Meet the Founder

Laura Lal, Founder & Director

With multi citizenship, a passion for travel and a passport stamped in over 25 countries, Laura has experienced the full spectrum of short-term accommodation - from exceptional to the ordinary. During her 14 years as a successful legal recruiter, she worked closely with senior lawyers relocating across Australia and around the world. In helping hundreds of professionals transition into new roles and new cities and travelling for work herself, one challenge kept surfacing: finding premium accommodation that felt like home and met the expectations of high-level talent.

That’s where Sonas Stays was born.

Combining her expertise in executive client service, a natural eye for design, and her extensive experience staying in short-term rentals, Laura launched Sonas Stays to offer a more thoughtful short-term rental experience - one that feels welcoming, homely and elevated. Whether hosting newly arrived corporate professionals or partnering with property owners, Laura brings deep care, trust, and attention to detail to every stay so that everyone involved feels a sense of happiness and contentment.
